We've been memorizing the articles of faith for Family Home Evening. Azure has done great! We used candy as a motivator and now she'll recite them and then say, "Can I have some candy?" with her head cocked to one side and a huge grin. This week we've been learning the 3rd one. Azure seriously is memorizing them better than I am!
Another funny quote this week: "Mommy, your baby is crying. Come feed him!"
Azure has been very cute with Vince. She huddles over him and says, "It's okay boy," when he cries. She loves to give him kisses and help me with his diaper changes. Sometimes though when he cries too loud she covers her ears, which is pretty funny!
When I nurse him during the day she brings all her dolls into my room and pretends to nurse them too. Or she'll just grab things off our dresser that she knows she's not supposed to. So, sometimes I look forward to middle-of-the-night feedings so I can just have Vince all to myself in peace and quiet. Though Azure loves him she is still acting out quite a bit due to the decrease in attention (mostly by destroying the house- breaking into the fridge and overdosing on probiotics and other vitamins, coloring on the couch, putting "stick lips" aka chapstick on all types of surfaces other than lips). I think she's giving me a preview of what her teenage years will be like :( Hopefully, I am much wiser and more patient by then!
Welcome to our blog! Here we'll share all our fun stories and adventures with our crazy children.

Round Here
I've been spending hours upon hours sitting here:
I mostly love the quiet reflection time. (When I'm not refereeing Azure). And I love staring into this adorably, perfect little face:

These words come to mind:
Though I am exhausted, I want to relish in these days a little more than before. I want to remember all the squeals and squeaks that Vince makes when he's nursing. I want to remember the silly faces he makes- wide eyed with round lips and his tongue poking out. I want to remember the tiny little hairs on his ears that will surely disappear all too quickly.
I have to remind myself to find joy in this journey when I wake up in the mornings to Azure destroying the house.
We never had to baby proof because she never got into things. Now, that's a different story. Things are difficult and more often than I'd like to admit, my patience runs thin. But, really this stage is wonderful. It's a miracle that I now get to hold in my arms the large bump that 2 and a half weeks ago was in my uterus.
*We are meeting with our doula tomorrow who will give us more details of the birth story so hopefully that will be up soon.
These words come to mind:
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'till tomorrow,It's interesting isn't it, that some of the most wonderful times in life are often the hardest? When Azure was a newborn I couldn't wait for her to "grow up" because she was so colicky. I wished away her newborn days. This time around is different. Vince is much calmer. Or maybe I have learned to be a better soother thanks to Azure and The Happiest Baby on the Block.
for babies grow up, I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs, dust, go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Quote of the day
Azure: "When baby Vince is all done with Azure's house, will he go back to the hospital?"
What a crack up!
What a crack up!

New phase of life
Azure's reign as the only child has officially drawn to a close. She's having somewhat of a hard time with it. She knows she's not getting as much attention as usual and is acting out a bit. It's an adjustment for all of us.
But, we are loving our little Vincenzo. Of course I'm biased but, I think he's the cutest baby boy ever!

Azure is learning to nurse and burp her babies too.

Behold, my little ones:

Sleep deprived, screaming newborn, toddler tantrums. What makes it all worth it? Knowing that I get to be with these sweeties forever. They are my absolute joy!
I also wanted to thank all of you who prayed for us. I was very close to having another C-section b/c my labor was so long. My Dr. got caught up in a surgery for a few hours and by the time she came back I was finally dilated enough. I attribute that to YOUR prayers. Thank you!

My episode airs tonight! If you don't have BYU TV you can watch it online up to 2 weeks after tonight's showing. It airs at 8pm MST. http://www.byu.tv/
You'll learn a little bit about Vince's namesake. I haven't seen the whole episode yet so hopefully it's good. Let me know what you think!

Welcome Home Vince
The official birth story will have to wait as it's incredibly long. I successfully had a VBAC! Vincenzo Charles Jensen was born on Wed. February 3 at 9:24pm. He weighed 7lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches long. He has dark brown hair and is absolutely adorable.

We finally came home from the hospital tonight and Azure is loving being a big sister and showing him around the house and explaining how life works :) There is a sweet peace in our home to finally have Vince with us and we feel blessed to now have a family of 4.
