Later that night we arrived in Savannah where we spent the next 2 days. Charles did so well at his interview at South University on Friday that they emailed Monday to tell him he was accepted! That makes 2 acceptances now. After the interview we headed out to Tybee Island and ate at the infamous Crab Shack which apparently was featured on Rachel Ray's $40 a day. It was the BEST seafood we ever had. They didn't give us much but it was delicious, especially the clam chowder, shrimp and crab cakes. Even better they had alligators at the restuarant. What is it about the south and BBQ and alligators, anyone?
We were cautioned not to drop Azure over the railing into the alligator pit but I must say we weren't tempted to do so at all, she had been well-behaved all day.
Here's Azure fascinated by the waves on Tybee Island
The next day we left for North Carolina and drove through South Carolina. We stayed at the Hatch's in Durham, thank you Hatches! We got to hang out with Evelyn all weekend, what could be better? We LOVE that girl :) She showed us around Chapel Hill and we almost ate at the Azure Grille, but they were closed.

I thought you looked like your mom in the first picture. Seriously. I guess you are her daughter right? That sounds like fun and I can't tell you why we love our BBQ, but we do. That was the best part about moving back to Texas when we did. However, alligators are more of a deep south thing like in Georgia, Alabama and Louisianna. We don't get much of them over here in Texas. I think it's because of all the swamps they have in their areas though. My best explanation.
Fun, fun, fun you guys. Glad you had such a great trip.
