The 3 Bears

So, sometime last summer Charles and I started calling each other Snuggly and Sweetums Bear, we're not sure how this came to be. And like most nicknames they evolve. Soon it became Vos (spanish for you) Bear, Vosi Bear, Vosi McBear, Vosity Vos Bear, Sweetie Bear and the like...
After a few months of this we were in the grocery store and saw a bottle of Snuggle laundry detergent. Charles just happened to stand next to it and I saw a resemblance between him and the infamous Snuggle Bear. What do you think? Then we found this website which has made us laugh hysterically and invite you all to check it out yourselves. http://snuggle.com/snuggle_fun/snuggle_boogie.aspx

With all of this bear business, we referred to Azure in the womb as Azure Bear and when she was born, little bear cub or cub bear. Now, most times I just call her cub.

With Halloween approaching we thought it would be appropriate for her to actually be a bear. So, we purchased this costume which we're thrilled about. http://store.babycenter.com/p2p/detail/zoom.do?productID=110950&intcmp=Store_ProductPg_ViewLarger
For some reason it won't let me copy the actual image here. Stay tuned for pics of Azure in her bear costume :)

Aqui estamos

We're back to blogging again. That doesn't mean our house is all unpacked yet though, but we're getting close. We've had an eventful last 2 wks with our move, visitors, buying furniture and awkward situations repeatedly that we won't mention here but have learned a lot from.
Aunt Tally came to visit Labor Day Wkend and helped us move. She was a big help! We thought about holding her hostage here, it would be great to have a live-in babysitter :)
We also went to Grandma Jensen's funeral. It was great to learn more about her life, she will be missed! We're glad that Azure got to meet her great grandmother before she passed away.
Azure enjoyed seeing all her cousins, she likes the attention!
Azure has througholy enjoyed gnawing on this fuzzy, purple frog and loving every minute of play time with him.

Every time I attempt to take a picture with Azure when she's wearing a cute outfit she starts crying!

Why is that?

Man vs Fisher Price

Swings are great. They enable parents to do things like bathe, eat, and update blogs. Unfortunately, some are not of the best craftsmanship. Our Graco swing donated by Uncle Cabe and Aunt Jenn self-destructed shortly before our move and it quickly became apparent that we needed a new one. During a visit to Dale and Kara's, Azure was able to test drive a Fisher Price "Rainforest" model swing. She was thoroughly entertained by it, so we knew what would be a sound choice when we found ourselves swingless. I set out to Babies R Us to purchase said swing while Deanna took care of Azure. I will now describe a fool-proof process of how to look like a fool.

1) Go to Babies R Us by yourself and be male.

2) Ask if you can buy the already assembled floor model rainforest model swing, complete with steel-drum jungle beats, toucan, monkey, and poison frog mobile.

3) Drive a 1986 Honda Accord LXI, and as you are buying the pre-assembled swing, think to yourself: "I'll figure out how to fit it in my car when I get out there."

4) Carry the apparatus in full view of the public out to your car.

5) Attempt to fit the awkwardly-shaped pacification device in your Japanese sedan.

6) Fail repeatedly at step 5

7) Forget to wear a belt the day steps 1-6 are performed.

Luckily, I found a button that collapsed the whole contraption and finally got the thing home. There are no pictures of the new swing to date, out of respect for the old swing. But here is a picture that finally answers definitively the question "who does Azure look like?"

Smiles all around!

Yea! We finally found a place to live today! It's taken us almost a week to find something so we're all very excited. Especially Azure, she finally gets her own room. You can see her happiness exuding in this picture, her first smile caught on camera :)

This last week has been somewhat stressful b/c of our apartment/house hunting but now that we've found a place we're stress-free, at least for now.

Azure has been drooling like crazy the past few weeks. I read that at 2 months this is normal due to overactive salivary glands and that it doesn't mean she's teething (thank goodness). We tried to get some shots of this drool. If you look closely you can see the spit bubbles. I think she inherited her dad's salivary glands except hers are only active when she's awake ;)

Stay tuned for pics of our new condo!

Update

We heard back from Midwestern today and unfortunately we're not going there this year since everyone showed up to orientation. We don't know why we need to stay here in Provo but we are trusting in the Lord that He knows and that He has a plan for us even if it means staying in Provo for a few more months. Azure was excited to move to AZ b/c she likes warm weather just like her mommy and daddy but alas we will have to bundle her up come winter and protect her from the snow!

2 months!

Yesterday Azure had her 2 month checkup and weighed in at 10 lbs! She was 7 lbs 3 oz when she was born and 20 inches long. Yesterday she measured at 23 inches. So she's gained 3 lbs and grown 3 inches!
She received more vaccines and she actually didn't do too bad. Charles helped hold her while the nurse stuck her several times. As soon as Azure realized what was happening she started to cry and so did I! But, her cries were more of shock and trauma than painful screams. We're just glad it's over!
We'll post more pictures soon...

Azure and Hasidic Reggae

Above and below are the views from our final resting place at the concert. It turns out that our seats in the third section were a scosh too boisterous and we moved up to the lawn seating, where Azure enjoyed the Torah-inspired raggae of Mr. Matthew Miller aka Matisyahu at volume levels below the pain threshold. Oddly, 1 inch speakers on a computer fail to capture the bass that an amphitheater is capable of producing. Aside from the general level of debauchery around us, we enjoyed the remainder of the concert and Azure was happy until hunger and sleepiness struck, luckily this was a place where feeding her publicly was not going to make people uncomfortable. After such an action-packed evening, Azure was pooped and slept for a record nine hours straight.
